As a rule, your rangehood should match or slightly exceed your cooktop width, so a 90cm cooktop pairs with a 90cm or wider rangehood for effective capture. Some high-performance models capture beyond their own footprint, so a powerful 60cm rangehood can still work well over a 70–75cm cooktop. Ducted rangehoods vent air outside for the best extraction, while recirculating rangehoods use replaceable filters and return air to the kitchen.
